Taking the PAX RN-Any Advice

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I am enroute to take the PAX-RN@Galen College of Nursing in the hopes of secuting a seat for their October 2, 2014 session. Any advise on the what to look for on the test? IS it terribly difficult? I have already taken the HESI; how does this compare? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Never took the HESI but I did take the NLN this June and got accepted to my program for the fall! I don't think it's terribly "hard". Keep practicing questions from the review book (the red one) and review every single thing you've gotten wrong. Make sure you don't make the same mistake twice, I think that's the only way to know for sure you're improving for this exam. The math section is very accurate - pretty simple if you aren't going to hyperventilate from hearing that you have to do "word problems". The science from the red book is sort of like the real NLN but some questions on the NLN can be a bit more trickier - lots of general bio stuff and physics, very few A&P. The vocab and reading comprehension - it's either you know it or you don't! I think that section is the most difficult to practice for, and thusly was the section I was the least prepared. Some say to look over words that appear on the GED exam, but I personally did not do that.

Thanks for the feedback....I passed!!! So excited. I did find it harder then the HESI and the TEAS. There was alot of chemistry

and earth science questions.

I passed and I start Galen Oct 2014 class RN class so I am ove the top excited.

Congrats! Woohoo! Now it's time to buy yourself some fundamentals review books on eBay and start reading! And go shopping for stethoscopes and other supplies. Fun :) :)

Can you guys help me on PAX- RN my concern is on vocab. English is not my first language.

Definitely will have hard time on english definitions. :((
