Rejected from nursing school

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Well one of the schools I applied to based acceptance on GPA and an invterview they did. My GPA is a 3.0 for the classes they counted. I apparently bombed my interview. When I left the interview I felt I did okay. Not great but not bad. Well I had to meet with the director to find out why I didn't get accepted and she said it was because of my interview. I recieved a score of 26/40 and they didn't even consider me at that point. We chated a bit and we talked about what I could do to increase my chances for next year. I think she got to know more about me a lot more and all I've been through trying to get into nursing school. Anyway, about a week later I got a call from her receptionist who called to invite me to an interview. (The first interview was requested by letter). I told her I was a bit confused since I already had been on an interview, rejected, and then I went and spoke with the director. She said "Oh well, I guess she believes you deserve another chance" So my question is... Has this happened to anyone else before? If so what happened? I'm hoping from the bottom of my heart that I'm just going to go in there and her tell me she changed her mind and they want me in the program.

Specializes in ICU.

I'm guessing the receptionist was right. After getting to know you, she felt you deserved another chance. Take the advice she gave you and do well on the interview this time!! Don't question it, just go for it!! Look her in the eye, give a firm handshake, and be positive. Just from the tone of your post I can tell you are not very positive, because you are questioning the fact that she called you. So go in and be positive. Have a great attitude and be happy. And like I said before look her in the eye.

And remember to thank your interviewers for inviting you back! Looks like you did something right during that second meeting. Try to remember and refine what you articulated that second day. Best of luck!
