OCU: Kramer School of Nursing- Accelerated BSN Program Fall 2015

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello!

I am on track to enter the accelerated BSN program at OCU's Kramer School of Nursing in Fall 2015. I am starting my final pre-reqs Spring 2015. I am looking for a preferably on-campus roommate.

Let me know if you have any questions:)

Hi izzy920!

I am also planning to attend OCU's accelerated nursing program in the fall. Are you from OKC? I am from Arizona but have visited OKC a few times before. I'm still deciding what I will do for my living situation (on or off campus), but I would potentially be looking for a roommate :)

Email me if you want to chat :)

Thank you for responding, vbernhardt! I am actually from Texas, and I am attending OCU for Spring 2015 and Summer 2015. Today is the first day of the rest of my life! WAHOO! I'm living on campus right now, and honestly, it's not bad at all. I like being on campus, because all my resources are here.

Hello izzy920! I'm new to AN my question has nothing to do with your post I just wanted to know how did you add the previous user quote into your response and is there a way to tag the person that your directing your comment to?!

Hi izzy920, I'm so excited for you! Good luck with the first day (of the rest of your life)! I'm glad to hear that campus living isn't bad, that might make my decision for living easier. Are you living in a double or four bedroom apt? I hope to keep in contact to hear how the program goes for you this semester.

I'm living in Walker Hall in a double. I wouldn't suggest living here during nursing school, because it's full of freshman girls. I've been here for 2 weeks, and they've had a water main bust twice. I'm thinking next semester, I'm going to look into living at Cokesbury, because it isn't too pricey. Methodist is double what I'm paying to live at Walker. I'll have to ask around.

I'm just taking basics this semester, so I haven't really gotten to see how the program is yet. Are you going to OCU this semester, vbernhardt?

Hello, Determined NNP, all I had to do to respond directly to a question was to hit the quote button located on the bottom right side of your comment. As far as tagging a person, I'm not sure how to do that.

That's good to know. I've been looking at Cokesbury as well, but I will be visiting the campus in March so I can see what my options are then.

I'm not at OCU this semester, i'm just working at home (in Arizona) to save up some money, but I will be starting right into the nursing program in the fall.

Are you liking the feel of OCU overall? (besides the busted water pipes..).

It's not half bad! I mean, there are a lot of things to do on campus from what I've seen so far. A large percentage of the student population is studying the arts, so just prepare yourself for that! I was in shock the first day I was walking to the caf and saw guys in tights doing ballet in the dance hall. I just burst out laughing. Lol. I got a lot of weird looks, but hey, whatever. Kodak moment at OCU.

I actually talked to some people at orientation, and they said Cokesbury and Methodist are your best bet. I honestly think Cokesbury is the best choice. You get the most bang for your buck.

The only downside is all of the student housing is all the way across campus from the nursing building. Methodist is a little closer, but it's also double the price. Either way, walking is going to be a must.

Kodak moments keep things interesting at least! :) They might laugh at us when we walk around in our scrubs, haha.

I am definitely leaning toward Cokesury at this point. Even if it's a bit further from Kramer, the campus is still fairly small from what I can remember.

Are classes going well still? I am just so excited to move and start nursing classes already! T-minus 6 months? woo hoo!
