Is this doable?

Hi all!

I plan on enrolling into a BSN program next fall (2013). In the meantime, I'm finishing up some prereqs. For all schools I need A&P 1, A&P 2, and Micro. Some schools I'm looking at also want courses like economics, ethics, religion, and nutrition. To stay on schedule I at least need to take 2 classes starting this fall and because of the common factor for the first 3 classes I listed, I am setting up to take A&P 1 and Micro at the same time. I have a 2 month old baby boy who requires a lot of attention obviously and plan to be nannying full time so I will be doing the hybrid option at my local community college (STLCC) where I just go in for 4 hour labs each on saturday.

I know everyone is different and has their own "breaking points" but would you say this is realistically doable?

I think you can do it. Will it be easy? No. You will just have to stay on top of things.

Yeah, I'm just worried about the combination. I hear lots of bad things about microbiology on it's own so I'm just worried about taking it with A&P.

If you have to take micro with an A&p class then I say a&p 1 is the one to do it with. A&p 1 is tough, but a&p 2 has much more physiology which I found to be challenging, but I liked it.. I'm in micro now, and I find that the micro lab is much more demanding than the a&p labs-- I still study about 2 hours a day for the lecture.. You'll definitely be studying a ton, but it's been done and I think you can do it and pull A's as long as you stay ahead.. Good luck(-:
