internet vs classroom

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hello all,

I was considering taking medical terminology. I was advised it will help me a lot with future classes. I see a lot of internet classes for this course at my school. My question is could I be successful with this class if I take it online or would it be better to learn it in a classroom?

OMG i was wondering the same and i found out this... so could if someone can answer this question to us :)

I took medical terminology as an online courseā€¦ I learned a lot from it (and it's the only textbook so far that I've decided to keep because it is very helpful). I prefer online courses because I can do the work at midnight when I have the time. You have to be disciplined to do online classes- and keep on top of your work. You don't have a professor every day reminding you when something is due. It's on you to check the calendar and the syllabus to keep up with everything.

Online courses are good for many situations, such as being able to contort it while working, or taking care of other responsibilities that may make a classroom setting hard. However, weigh out your pros and cons before deciding. Sometimes an online class can turn into a nightmare, but it depends on how well you grasp and understand the material you're being given to learn and test on. I'm not against online classes at all. They helped me get over half of my pre-reqs done with little disruption of my working hours. I just decide which classes would be best for me to take in class instead of online. You should be fine either way with Med Term, so go with the one that's suiting your needs now! :)

I think Med Term would work out fine as an online class. The only thing I can think of that might be an advantage to the classroom setting is the ability to work on pronunciation with your classmates and the professor. But many textbooks come with CDs that you can use on your computer to practice pronunciation with anyway.
