Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello everyone,

I'm at a CC doing prereqs to apply to nursing school and had s few questions. I've heard about nursing points we can get to improve our chances in being accepted into nursing school. Does anyone know what exactly gives earns points? Any personal experiences?

Does anyone know what earns points at APU high desert(Victorville) CA?

Anything would help! Thanks 😊

Some schools use a point system for admissions. How many points and what contributes towards them is determined by each school. If your school uses a point system you will need to find out what their specific criteria are. Typically schools that admit on a point system post a rubric somewhere - either search their website or contact the program and ask for copy.

The school I applied to (and just about every other school in Oregon) use a point system that gives points for gpa, amount of credits completed, number of A&P courses complete, and having a prior degree. There are also discretionary points each school awards such as completion of chemistry and microbiology, health care expenses friends, military service, no classes retook, etc.

the website for your school should list them.
