GMU BSN or GCC ADN?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi all-

I'm sure this is a common question:

Should I go for a highly competitive but in the end cheaper/faster route by getting my BSN at GMU? Or go for the slower 2 year route at GCC? My end goal is to get a BSN, it would only take me 12 months at GMU and it would cost me less because I won't be paying for a 2 year degree plus the BSN. Competition for the BSN program is stiff so I shouldn't put all my eggs in one basket and all that.. but it really seems like the smarter option.

I'm almost finished with my bachelors in something completely different. Working on some of the pre-req's for nursing now. I'd like a job with a lot of growth potential and the potential to move anywhere and still get a job. I wanted to be a nurse through high school and then got scared off because of the math and some of the yuck factors. 9 years later I can't see why I was such a wuss...

Apply to both and keep options open.

Best if GMU says yes.

If GCC says yes and GMU says no, you have to weigh waiting one more year for GMU or go to GCC and be RN same time minus BSN.

Good luck getting accepted to GMU.

That's a good call. Thank you for responding :)
