Does anyone know legit websites for scholarships? I know there might be some scam websites out there and I don't want to put my personal information out there. Can someone give me some ideas? I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much in advance!!!!

I would call around local hospitals as part of your search. There aren't as many applicants so you have a better chance of getting offered an award.

I would definitely check with your school's financial aid office before proceeding. They would likely have a list of scholarships that are applicable to your situation. I would be wary about applying to scholarships through websites listed in post #2, since a number of scholarships listed on those sites require giving information to unwanted parties (expect a lot of spam at the very least).

The first thing you really want to do is apply for FAFSA, even if you think your income is too high, your education background might be prohibitive (e.g. you have a bachelor's degree), etc. I would also find your state grant funding website, by going to google and entering your state plus "state education grant". There might be a website to apply for your state grants.

Once you've applied for FAFSA funding, your state needs grants, and scholarships listed through your school's financial aid office (skip that last part if you are not in school), then consider online scholarships that ask for limited information, do not ask for you to give out critical information (your social security number or banking information, for example), and does not require you to pay for anything.

It would also be helpful if we had more information for better advice. But, regardless of your background, please follow the steps listed above. Also, recognize what website you're on when you release your information, such as .gov and .edu versus .com, .org, .info...
