Hi there. Here are a couple places you could look into:

Houston Community College. Two-year program, though it looks like up to four years part-time is ok. Before you're admitted, you need to have finished a few classes (which are listed on that page), and have gotten a C or better in them.

Lone Star College North Harris. (Note: I searched for RN programs in Houston, and this came up; I don't know Houston so I don't know if this is actually IN Houston!) Similar to HCC.

If you search for "Houston RN" in google, you should come up with a few options and since you know the area much better than I do, you'll know if the schools are actually in Houston. :p

The user above said the same thing I was going to tell you. I became a mom at 18 and continued to strive for my dreams as well. Of course it is hard to adjust to but it gets better with time. I had no idea what major I wanted to pursue at first until i picked nursing just for the money, but that made no sense. Why waste time doing something I do not like? But over the course of me starting college my decision just would not shake and I started realizing how rewarding this actually would be and plus my mom has been a CNA for 19,20 years now which made me decide as well to step it up a notch. Do your research though. I am 23 now with two kids, engaged to be married and have been accepted into Lone Star's 2 year degree plan. What a blessing and I am superexcited to establish my career, grow as a person and have a steady foundation for my family.

You have to venture out and do your research. In my opinion Lonestar's program was way easier to get into. Everything is on a point system. On a scale of 12 you are graded on your avg grades in anatomy 1 or 2 whichever grade is higher, english 1301, Psych 2301. Your next 4 pts come from your pre reqs you have taken which are basic classes such as sociology, p.e, microbiology, psych for lifespan and a couple of others and lastly your hesi scores are graded, math being a tie breaker. The website is lonestar.edu click programs and find nursing and click the link that says nursing dept. It leads you to the other links for different campuses nursing programs. Depending where you live you can go to Kingwood, Tomball, Cyfair, North Harris and Montgomery. Each campus has applicants applying each year and different cut offs; North Harris being the largest campus but a lower cut off.

HCC requires you to first take a development class and submit an application and you have to attend an information session so that you may be contacted to take a pharmacology math test. You have to make a 90 or perfect 100 to be considered for an interview, I cannot remember. And also there health occupation is centered Downtown Houston which is near to me but I would dread the traffic.

I just wanted to give you some insight on these two year programs in Houston. Yes dreams do come true because I am living proof. Check the websites out when you have time!
