Direct Entry MSN

Hi I will be getting my bachelors in public health in two years and I recently found out about the direct entry MSN program. I am so nervous to get into a direct entry MSN program due to my low GPA. My freshamn and Sophomore year of college I was a biomedical science major. How last spring something traumatic happened, which caused me to do really bad in school, and now I have a 2.5 GPA. I really want to become a nurse and I realized that it has always been my passion but my family wanted me to become a doctor. So I ended up pursuing Biomedical science, just make them proud. In the beginning, I was averaging Cs, Bs but last spring something traumatic occurred in my family, which caused me to fail in 3 of my classes.

Do you guys have any recommendation on what I should do. I haven't taken the GRE yet, but planning to

Have you inquired about the requirements/typical standards at the schools? (By "standards" I mean things that make a candidate desirable. For example, a school may require a GPA of 3.0, but if everyone else has a 4.0 a GPA of 3.0 wouldn't be competitive.) You may need to consider an a different nursing path, if the program is at all competitive. And really, you don't need a graduate degree for nursing, unless you want to get into leadership, research, education, advanced practice etc. ****which nobody should be doing with no nursing experience!!!****

But definitely ask the schools.
