Confused about what is the best thing to do

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

---I apologize in advance for the long post!!!---

I go to a smaller private university, which has a great nursing program, in my home town. Their program is rather odd being that for the traditional BSN program, you do one year of prereqs and three years of nursing school. I just finished my freshman year and I am finishing my last required prereq right now (over the summer). I have all the credentials for admission and I did great on my interview, but I'm missing one thing. ...TEAS

I've taken the TEAS before and scored 1.5 points under the acceptance rate, which was really good. I just took it again last week and got 1.6 points under the acceptance rate, which is heart-breaking considering we only have two attempts. The two attempt rule was implemented by our last dean, who was recently fired. Our new dean is a lovely lady and has a huge heart. After I finished my test, I asked to speak with her in the hall about what I should do. She felt really bad for me about my scores, so she offered to looking into lifting the number of attempts. She is supposed to email me and set up a meeting to discuss if she will be able to do this, or to discuss plan B.

It's really heart breaking that I was 1.6 points away, but bad things happen! If she will allow me to take it another time, I know I can get my score up. If not, I am not sure what to do!

Being that my university is private, I spend a lot of money in tuition and housing (I live on campus do to my mother moving out of state). All together, I spend around $30K/year, but around half of that is covered under grants and scholarships that I don't have to pay back. That leaves another intimidating $15K/year in loans, but my university is very lenient and I plan to join the nursing corps (for experience and to repay loans). If I don't get in this year, I think I might stay one more year to finish all my non-nursing classes and to have another year with my friends. Then I am deeply thinking about moving 30 minutes away to the bigger city for an ADN program, which is $14k for the whole entire degree. After graduation, I would immediately do an ADN to BSN program with our state school for cheap.

The bottom line....

Worse case scenario that I don't get into this program... Should I stay with my expensive university another year and reapply to their nursing program, which will take a total of 5 years to finish my degree? ---OR--- Should I stay another year to finish my non-nursing classes and transfer to another BSN or ADN program?

What should I do?! Thank you!
