Buying a second textbook to supplement course material

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Anyone else purchasing a second used cheap text to supplement challenging courses? I just placed an order for another chemistry book (by a different author) to read some material explained in a different way. I usually easily comprehend the explanations in my assigned chem text but for some reason oxidation state isn't gelling like all the previous concepts have. I bought a second anatomy book for last semester too! It's so helpful to get a different angle on the info sometimes.

Hopefully we all pass with A's!!!

I surprisingly never even opened my book in any of my science classes.

Absolutely! We had one particular class that had multiple professors and they were completely divided on how useful their textbook actually was (it was utter garbage). Having another book that actually broke down the concepts in an organized way helped so much! Also, in nursing school, having resources for practice questions will also help quite a bit.

I'd never feel confident going into an exam if I didn't read and make outlines of each chapter in the text. It's imperative for my understanding of the material to pour over every page. How do students not open their textbooks? There's so much info to cover in this class and the teacher's summarized power points don't contain the level of detail found in the book.
