BSN for Spring

Hello all,

I hope you read this in good health. I am a third year science major in the East Coast and from the looks of things, I will be graduating in the Fall of next year, instead of Spring.

I am looking to get into an accelerated BSN program but most of them start in the Fall and I do not want to wait an extra six or so months before starting school.

• Which reputable schools start in the Spring?

If you do some research, you can find good schools that start their ABSN programs in the spring. You can consider taking a CNA course and work as a CNA during the six months before your nursing school starts. It will provide you a fairly good perspective as to what nursing is about and its environment. You can work full time during those six months to make yourself feel more goal-oriented and fulfilled. My nursing school doesn't start until August, and I am spending the first half of this year working as a CNA. In addition, when you apply to jobs after graduating nursing school, hospitals and other facilities will lean towards applicants with previous healthcare working experience. If you manage to get a CNA job in the hospital, you might be more likely to get hired in that hospital as a nurse in the future than others whom never worked in a hospital before.
