Best route to become a nurse

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hello,

I am going to be applying to nursing schools in the coming year and I am wondering what the most effective route would be for me. I have 3.2 overall gpa from a small private college. However my last two years were much better than my first two as I have C+ in gen chem II, and Orgo I and II. However I am retaking orgo II at a local university with an expected grade of an A. I have a year of experience working with a private ambulance company as an EMT and 2 years volunteering on a volunteer ambulance. Ideally I would like to get into an accelerated bsn program and I would be willing to move anywhere in the country for this if anyone has any suggestions. My other option is to stay local (CT) and try to get my RN from a cc and then bridge to get my BSN. Any advice is greatly appreciated as Im not sure what to do.

Your ambulance time more than likely won't mean anything. What matters are grades and having your pre reqs done. Most ABSNs have a minimum of 3.0 on your first bachelors degree to apply. You seem to meet that. I am assuming you have already complete AP I and II? Just start web searching ABSN programs. Then see if you meet the requirements to apply. If you are moving consider cost of living. The middle of Wyoming is a lot cheaper than DC metro.
