So I am a CNA now planning on becoming an RN and continuing my education to nurse practitioner, but I am not sure where to start. I was thinking about LPN first then bridge to RN, but with it being a bridge course some things will be left out compared to the traditional RN route I'm nervous about missing things and not being prepared after graduation. Also would I still need to complete the general prerequisite courses before the RN bridge program? Or if I just went through a regular full length RN program after LPN would I still need prerequisites? And for future employers how does a bridge program look? Hopefully someone can help me I'm confused there are a lot of different choices and schools all advertising something different. Thank you

CNA - LPN - RN. Looks OK to me, seems like you already know your route.

Not sure why you are thinking stuff about after graduation if you haven't event gotten in the program yet. In terms of pre-reqs for the LPN or RN programs, look it up at the colleges/universities you are looking to attend and it never hurts to consult a counselor.

If you do decide to go the LPN route and later go through a bridge program, make sure there are programs near you. A friend of mine is a LPN and is having difficulty finding a LPN-RN program where we live. Look into some RN programs. My school's RN program allows students after the first year to take a support class and earn a LPN certificate of proficiency which allows students to take the NCLEX-PN,if they'd wish while continuing with their RN.
