Bachelors general eds with associates?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hi everyone!

I'm in school to get my associates degree in nursing.

Long story short, I was at a four year college earning a bachelors degree in child life when I had to move home, and it also made me discover that I really wanted to be a nurse. So, three years into a four year degree I started new (ish)

I've been able to transfer in many credits for general eds and now I only have four general eds left, two which I'll take next semester online and the other two I can take alongside my four nursing classes. (for my associates)

I want to earn my bachelors degree after and I don't want to take a shortcut, but I'm eager to be done. That being said, I want to try to take a couple general eds towards a bachelors degree with my two online classes. I've been doing research and I know a lot of the classes require you to be a licensed nurse to take them, but others don't, (like stats..but I've already taken that otherwise I'd take it.)

Has anyone done this before? My thought was to see which ones were common in associates RN to BSN programs around me and try to find a school to let me take one of the more common ones.

Your best bet at this point is to figure out which BSN program you will take and then look at their requirements. Because requirements differ from school to school, anything "extra" you take now might not be accepted by your BSN program -- or might not be needed and turn out to be a waste of valuable time and money. At least narrow the BSN field down to 2 or 3 possible programs and see what courses you could take now that would count. Investigate the specifics -- don't guess.
