Need advice on getting my life together.
Can't really give a ton of advice because I don't have my life together but wanted to share a quote my mom has on our fridge, "No one has their life together. That's like trying to eat once and for all." I do hope you start feeling better about everything though :) Hopefully some of the nurses here are helpful!

Microbiology
Hi! Question for nursing students... Was A&P ll a prerequisite for microbiology at your school? It is at mine and all my friends in nursing have said they took micro and A&P concurrently. Just curious if my school is the norm or not. Thanks!

Drowning in Anatomy
I'm taking A&P for the second time. The first time I took it in person and failed with a 73, I basically fell apart when it came to studying the brain/spinal cord. This semester I'm taking A&P online and I expected it to be a little easier considering everything would be review, and I would just have to really work at getting the brain/spinal cord down. I was wrong. For my second week, we have online assignments where we are looking at cadavers and being asked to identify parts of the eye, muscles, bones, tissues, veins, cranial nerves. It says we are covering the appendicular skeleton right now in all our handouts so I don't know why our quizzes/assignments are showing me the picture of a cadavers arm and asking me to identify the vein/artery I'm seeing. I honestly thought it was a glitch in the system where we were being asked questions from all the possible questions for the semester instead of just the chapters we were on, so I emailed my professor asking. He said that it was okay... So now I need to somehow learn all of this stuff, and fast. I'm so overwhelmed and don't know where to begin because it seems like nothing in my whole lab book is off limits. Has anyone else taken anatomy online before? What helped you study?? Thanks!!!

Bachelors general eds with associates?
Hi everyone! I'm in school to get my associates degree in nursing. Long story short, I was at a four year college earning a bachelors degree in child life when I had to move home, and it also made me discover that I really wanted to be a nurse. So, three years into a four year degree I started new (ish) I've been able to transfer in many credits for general eds and now I only have four general eds left, two which I'll take next semester online and the other two I can take alongside my four nursing classes. (for my associates) I want to earn my bachelors degree after and I don't want to take a shortcut, but I'm eager to be done. That being said, I want to try to take a couple general eds towards a bachelors degree with my two online classes. I've been doing research and I know a lot of the classes require you to be a licensed nurse to take them, but others don't, (like stats..but I've already taken that otherwise I'd take it.) Has anyone done this before? My thought was to see which ones were common in associates RN to BSN programs around me and try to find a school to let me take one of the more common ones.

Can my school change prerequisite requirements?

Can my school change prerequisite requirements?
It just feels like they're putting money and technicalities over my education. Telling me A&P 1 is vital for nursing when I was .3 points shy of passing and last semester students didn't even need to take it at all.

Can my school change prerequisite requirements?
It's frustrating because they're saying I'm not enrolled because I haven't taken nursing classes, so the catalogue rules when I came in aren't guaranteed to me and the rule their accreditation board had doesn't apply to me. So then I came up with a backup plan of taking micro and A&P 1 at the same time this semester but they don't allow that. So I figured I'd just take micro at a community college and transfer it in. But they don't allow that because I'm an enrolled student.

Can my school change prerequisite requirements?
No bio was already taken. A&P 1 was allowed to be taken concurrently with Nursing 1 up until this semester.

Can my school change prerequisite requirements?
Prenursing- just found this website yesterday and clicked student because I'm in school- didn't even know there was a prenursing tab until after I posted. My school allows nursing to be taken while I take A&P 2 and up now.

Can my school change prerequisite requirements?
Thanks for all the responses! My frustration was that they said A&P 1 was VITAL for nursing, but it never has been for my school before. Just bad luck that I decided to earn my bad grade the year they changed things over. And I'm definitely not going to fight the grade, it sucks that he doesn't round but I could have earned a ninety so it's my fault. One thing I wouldn't mind happening at the meeting is maybe instead of allowing me to take nursing one they'll waive the A&P 2 pre-req for micro, so I can at least have financial aid for next semester and get micro out of the way.

Can my school change prerequisite requirements?
Hi! I'll try to explain this as best I can. I enrolled in nursing school in June of 2015 with a lot of transfer credits. This semester I took more general ed requirements so all I have left is A&P 2, Micro, a religion class, and four nursing classes. My plan was Spring '16 A&P 2, Nursing 1 Summer '16 Micro, Nursing 2 Fall '16 Religion, Nursing 3 Spring '17 Nursing 4 And then I would have my associates and be able to take the NCLEX. Unfortunately, I failed A&P with a 72.7 (needed a 73), and so I was bummed out, but decided I would just push each of my general eds back a semester, so I could still take those four nursing classes in the time planned. I signed up for Nursing and Anatomy 1 and it even said on the registration website they could be taken simultaneously. Then I got a call from my school. They changed their prerequisite for Nursing 1 in mid September, saying that now students need to take anatomy 1 PRIOR to nursing. They didn't change it on the registration website accidentally. This will cause a delay in earning my degree. It will also cause me to lose financial aid next semester, because the religion class is full this late in the game, and micro can't be taken simultaneously at this school. I did my research and the commission that accredits my school had a list of standards for accreditation, one of which is "When programs are eliminated or program requirements are changed, the institutionmakes appropriate arrangements for enrolled students so that they may complete theireducation with a minimum of disruption." This causes a huge disruption with both my financial aid and my graduation date. I have a meeting with the VP of my school and the nursing director tomorrow. My argument is that the catalogue and handbook said I could take Nursing 1 and Anatomy 1 simultaneously when I enrolled in the school, so they can't change that. Do you think I have a chance?
