Any good advice for working mom/student?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello! I am a 21 year old Pharmacy Technician and first-time-mother to a 2 month old baby. I will be returning to work full-time in my pharmacy in a few short weeks. My husband is a paramedic and works 12 hour night shifts so we are on complete opposite schedules. During my maternity leave, I finalized the decision that nursing is the path I would like to travel down career-wise! I am beyond excited to start this journey; however, I am also very nervous about having to juggle being a new mother, wife, and student all while working. The mom life alone is very new to me so throwing new aspects (nursing school and leaving baby for work) in the mix is quite scary! My question is if there are any other women out there who have been or are currently in this situation or one similar, or anyone at all that can solicite any advice or tips on how to balance this type of lifestyle and any ways to make it easier? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I am a mother of two, a military wife, I am a full time CMA, and I am in school full time doing prereqs for nursing. I still struggle to balance life. I have a planner with all of my weekly assignments. I also have a calendar with all of our schedules on it- appts, days off, ect. It's not easy, but it will be worth it. Maybe take one or two courses at a time until you find a good balance with your schedules and new baby. And congrats on this new journey and your bundle of joy!

Thank you so much! And good luck with your classes! (:
