Alternate List

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

So I previously posted my Hesi test scores before applying to the program, and recently received my letter that I made the Alternates list, which I know is better than the denial letter. I'm just wondering if anyone else has been an alternate and then accepted, and If so when did you get the call that you were accepted. The letter says by August 1st, but I heard of people getting a call the week before school starts. Is there still hope??

It depends on your school and where you are at on the wait list.

This is not my own personal tale, but my friend was initially placed on the alternate list when he applied to the nursing program. His school does not tell you what place you are on the alternate list. He went to every meeting, got his vaccinations, etc. I am a tad fuzzy on when he was accepted, but I believe it was literally right before classes started up. Fortunately, he did not have to do too much scrambling. I am not sure what date the program at his school gives to accept alternates or if they give one at all. I encourage you to find out where you are on the placement list if at all possible. Best wishes.
