A&P HELP

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Okay y'all, I'm taking A&P 1 at the moment, and I know that I'm only going to get a D at best. This is the second time I've taken this class, and I just don't know what to do anymore. I know I want to be a nurse, but I have NO luck in this class. I'm already making plans to take it over the summer because the teacher that is offered next semester is awful (I've already taken her and I failed and I tried so hard too!) Is there any tips that any of you can give me to know the material better and actually be able to pass it the next time I take it? I do plan to get a tutor, but any tips/ study tips are HIGHLY welcome!

Also, I have ADHD Inattentive type, I don't know if that affects my memory but please keep that in mind while you give me tips.

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

Have you spoken with a school counselor? Sometimes they can help you identify how you learn best - audio, video, etc. Do you do best when taking notes? Do you need flashcards?

If you're having a hard time with just reading the material, try a little more multimedia. Suggestions include Khan Academy, YouTube videos, podcasts (look for Dr. Gerald Cizadlo from St. Scholastica), or anything by Marian Diamond on YouTube.

A&P is one of those courses that will weed a person out of a nursing program, so I hope you can get this knocked out with a better grade. Good luck!!
