Vanderbilt CNM/FNP 2014

Hello fellow nurses!

Soooo.. I am preparing to apply to Vanderbilt University's dual CNM/FNP program for Fall 2014 and wanted to start a thread rather than searching for info on here. I've been studying for the GRE cause I haven't taken it yet - planning to take it at the end of October. I'm heading to Nashville next month to check out the city cause I've never been! I'm a little freaked out, but overall excited because I know this is what I want and I think Vanderbilt offers a great option with this joint program.

Anyone currently in the program with some sage advice or details about the curriculum?

Anyone else looking to apply? Thoughts, fears, future career plans? Compulsive comparisons of GPA, GRE scores and work experience? :)

Taking my GRE tomorrow and then completing my application.... Unless my GRE score is awful. Do you know what they suggest? Or what the average GRE score is?

I am finishing up my application for CNM/FNP as well! I am not a nurse, so I will be applying for the pre-specialty track. I took the GRE a couple years ago and am currently in Boston re-taking a few prerequisites that have expired for some schools (over 5 years old). Anyone else excited about this application cycle??

I applied too, but I just applied last week (late). I didn't find the program until after priority deadline. I'm extremely nervous that this is going to minimize my chances. Any one heard anything about an interview yet?

Wow that was quick. I haven't heard anything. I applied CNM only.

I got one too! I applied CNM/FNP pre-specialty. I'm also nervous, but SO excited!

When did you all apply? I was just past the deadline and submitted on December 2nd for the RN pre-specialty CNM/FNP. Haven't heard anything from them yet and beginning to get anxious.

I submitted Dec 01. From past years' threads, it looks like they interview well into February, so I wouldn't worry too much!

Thanks for the reply. Trying to calm my nerves and finish my last semester of my ADN. At both visits I made to Vandy, I was encouraged to apply. So we shall see.
