    MNSRNA,

Thank you for some very useful info, Could you please dicuss cost of the program at some point?

Pleasem let me know if there are any financial aid programs offered by the school or its affiliates or is it all federal student aid.

How many months expect to actually be in school?

    Thank s in advance

No problem, I am happy to answer questions.

The program is 27 months long from the last week of August to the end of November, graduating in early December usually. You can take 80 hours of vacation in the last month of the program if you have saved enough (I think you start with 30 personal days..I cant remember) to have extra time to study for boards.

The program cost for me was about 25,000, this includes books and such. I think it goes up a little each year. In the interview they will let you know the cost for the year you are applying. The payments are divided into trimesters so they are spaced out. The school does have a few scholarships you can apply for through the AANA, but only a few people will get awarded them and you have to have a need for financial aid. Otherwise you can apply for federal student loans.

    Hi there,
When did you all apply? I turned in my app in June, and so far from what I've heard is the earlier you turn in your app, the earlier you could get called for an interview. Don't know if this is true, but I'm hoping for my sanity they call me sooner rather than later for my interview, if I get one. We should keep track of each other, and help each other get through the interview process, and hopefully we can be classmates next year. Fingers crossed, and good luck to all who applied.

    rave21,
I only applied to MSA. Kind of putting all of my eggs in one basket. I can and will apply to St Mary's University if I don't get into MSA. I applied to MSA because that is my first choice above and beyond any other program. I have a family, so going to a program out of the twin cities is not an option for me. The U of M program would interest me, but I called the program director a couple of years back and she told me, and it was on the website, that they much perfer students with adult ICU experience, and not peds ICU experience. This really turned me off to their program, so I won't apply there. You said that you called the school, and they don't do rolling admissions? Can I assume that what I previously had been told about getting your app in early gets you an early interview isn't true? That's nice to know, now I guess I can take a deep breath. Where else did you apply? Where are you from? I work here in St Paul at Children's hospital in the PICU.

    Hi MSA applicants!
I just spoke with someone from the school, and she said they were going to finish reviewing applications this week, and that letters will go out the end of November, and this letter will tell you whether you were selected for an interview or not. Good luck to all who applied!
