Chances of getting accepted

  1. 0
Hello all. I've been a ADN RN since 1988. 2 years telemetry, 7 years of CSU, 1 year CCU, and 7 years of Cath Lab (scrubbing, Arterial access, and circulating). I am currently getting my BSN. ACLS/BCLS, Code Team member, several classes ie 12 lead, IABP, Hemodynamics etc. I will be a senior this fall of 05' and would like to apply to CRNA school in Sept of 05' for the starting fall class of 06'. I will graduate with a BSN in the summer of 06'. My current GPA is 3.5. The school I am applying to doesn't require GRE if you maintain a 3.5 or greater. My question is this: What will my chances be of getting accepted without having my BSN until the summer of 06'. At 43, I feel like I am on a time crunch to get this thing done and over with. What does everyone think? I will be 3 classes from finishing by the time interviews are conducted in the winter of 05-06. Thanks in advance.

Call your schools and ask...you experience speaks for itself! I would just apply. Good Luck

I'm still in nursing school but I do know the CRNA program here requires you to have a BSN completed when you actually apply. I think it all depends on the school...they should give you a straight answer if you call and ask.

I would not worry about not having completed your BSN by the time you apply. There are schools who will interview you and accept pending completion of the BSN. There are others who want you to complete it prior to the application. I would apply anyway. You never know, you may get an interview. This happened to me. I applied to a school that required the BSN prior to application. I did not think I would get an interview, however I wanted to try anyway as I was really impressed with the school. I was granted an interview and was excited about the school, however I was told during the interview that I probably would not get in due to my not having completed the BSN. I was disappointed, however I got placed on the alternate list. Two weeks later they called and offered me acceptance, pending completion of my BSN. I completed my BSN in May of 2004 and started CRNA school in June of 2004. So you never know. I beleive if it is meant to be, things will work out for you just fine. Good luck.

I don't know which school the OP is referring to, but Oakland University/Beaumont Hospitals anesthesia program (Detroit Metro) has that parameter. Above 3.5 GPA, no need for GRE test.
