I am applying to UT's AE MSN program and have started my personal statement. Unless I am not seeing it (which is entirely possible), I cannot find that there is any guidance on how long it should be. Any thoughts on how long I should aim for? My husband says no longer than one page, single spaced.

Hello!

I am in the UT AEMSN program 3rd semester, and my essay was 2 pages double spaced, 12 point font, Times New Roman. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions!

Allison

Hi Allison,

Thank you for your reply! I have my final review and edit to do, but it is currently 1 page single spaced. It sounds like mine is about the same length as yours.

I am going to to info session tonight, so I will probably talk to them about it.

One more question: do you find the program to be pretty intensive? Do you eat, sleep, and drink nursing school or do you find you have time to breathe?

Deborah

I also am a 3rd semester AE student and my personal statement was 3 pages double spaced. I think that if you really have some good info in there of why you want in or are the best candidate, then a little longer is fine.

We pretty much do eat, breath, and sleep nursing - but we get some breaks too. I think that if you are an efficient scheduler/time manager/hard worker it will be fine. We have to take days off every week because there is no way we would keep our minds together if we didn't. It is a difficult, face-paced program, but definitely doable and worth it!!! Good luck!
