RODP FNP in TN? Anyone?

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Hello all...I've searched through and found that some of you have or are currently in the RODP program for FNP through Tennessee...can anyone update me on this? Do you like it? Would you recommend it/do it again? Im hoping to get my home school of MTSU...also for those of you that know..do you have to have some classes such as adv pharm and assessment done first? I can't get definitive answers through the website..Thanks so much!

I finished the summer semester and it was very doable. I took research, roles, and theory. Research was tough but the other two weren't bad, just very time consuming. I probably spent about 10 hrs a week per class on average and came out with all 96% or above....tough but doable. I'm taking patho and health assessment this coming semester and am excited to get into the "real" stuff!

It was full for fall but I'm accepted for Jan 14, transferring out of another online program. If anyone has started a facebook group please let me know!!

Hi Adunn, I will be starting the FNP track in Jan. 14 as well. I plan to go part-time. My home school will be ETSU.

Congrats lemur 87!!

Hello,

I am starting the RODP-FNP program this semester (today!). I'll be attending full-time. I was previously going to attend USA's BSN-DNP program but I changed my mind over the summer. So, here I am! Taking four classes this semester. Excited to get this underway!

This is my second semester, I am taking Research and Roles. Good luck to everyone!!

What 4 are you taking nurse Allie?

I'm taking research, roles, theory, and policy. It looks like a LOT of reading! Trying to map out the semester now!

Specializes in Acute care pediatrics, mother/Baby.

Another RODP-er here. Just finished my first semester. Going part time/no summer so my grad date should be spring of '17.

Advanced Patho and Health Policy done. Taking Pharmacology and Theory starting January '14.

Anyway, I'm somewhat unconventional in that I'm not working currently. My husband's job requires hime to be on call at all hours and we have no family to help fill in the gaps regarding the kids. During my undergraduate years (back in the dinosaur age of 1990-1995) I went to school full-time and worked starting as a Nurse intern and then and RN 2 12-hour shifts a week, plus working as a reader when an upper classmen. It helped with clinical knowledge, but made studying an adequate amount very difficult! So this is a nice change of pace. I'm able to study during the kids school hours and after they go to bed.

So--more than you ever wanted to know! Great to find a few more fellow students--Nice to meet you.

I am starting in Jan 13th and will be taking Patho through ETSU RODP program? Has anyone started a facebook group? Would love to hear from others. My adviser wanted me to take Patho and Theory. I have heard Research is the hardest class by far.
