RN to MSN accredition? what to look for?

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Thinking of going for RN to MSN option instead of RN to BSN...

how do i know an online school is properly accredited and would allow me to work in all 50 states when i am done.

Who is the licensing body that credits all these online schools...its so many...

Look for two things: nursing accreditation and regional accreditation.

For the nursing accreditation: either CCNE (Commission for Collegiate Nursing Education) or NLNAC (National League of Nursing Accreditation Commission).

There are 8 regional accreditation agencies, so look for something like New England Accrediation, Middle States Accreditation, Western States, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, North Central Association, etc). These are the same agencies that accredit the 'brick-and-mortar' schools and use the same standards.

Thanks for the info...very helpful!!!!
