Welcome! :p I wanted to start a new thread for anyone who is intending to start at JHU this fall! ABSN folks feel free to join in as well as we may have the same questions and answers and as you'll be starting a few months ahead of us, I'm sure we'd appreciate your wisdom come summertime.

I will be headed out to Accepted Student's Day on the 29th and for a few days afterwards if anyone wants to get a group together to check out the neighborhood, do a preliminary scan of housing potential, or grab a drink/coffee please let me know and we can figure something out.

Please feel free to use this thread as a forum to express any viewpoints about JHU (for those who haven't quite made up their mind), questions/concerns you have regarding the program, moving to Baltimore, etc. (I know I have more than a few!)

At least I'm not all alone anymore! Perhaps my excitement is just a tad too high, in comparison to everyone else ;) The facebook group has many members though so if that's where all the action is, that's fine too. Have you joined the JHU Nursing Students group there?

I got into JHU's traditional 21 month BSN program but have not received any financial aid info. I was supposed to send a non-refundable check for $500.00 yesterday. We are middle income and I would be commuting. Apparently FA letters don't go out till April. I may or may not have lost my seat and feel disappointed by the bind I felt myself stuck in. I went to the admitted applicants day and we were told that JHU students typically assume $50,000 debt. While I know that's way beyond what I/We can absorb, it would have been so helpful to know what my actual FA package looked like. Anybody else in this sitch?

Yes, all of us (even Accelerated students) were required to submit the non-refundable deposit before receiving financial aid packages - unfortunately it seems that several schools do this. JHU is the only school I plan on going to, so I didn't hesitate to send in the deposit. For me, I was very aware of the cost of the education, and the only unknown variables at this point is how much of the funding will be in grants and how much will be in (federal and private) loans.

You should contact Sylvia or Kasey in Admissions and confirm if you have given up your spot since you did not submit the deposit on time. They may not be sending you a financial aid package if you are no longer a student who intends to enroll there.

Has anyone received FA package yet? I am wondering what it looked like in reality? Surprisingly more than you expected or less?
