I NEED to KNOW! UAB online MSN applicant!!

I'm in agony waiting to hear on UAB's admission decision to the Spring 2010 online MSN program. I applied in July. On the application I selected to be notified of my status via email. They were planning to send out decisions starting on Nov 2nd. II check my email like crazy on Monday...and nothing. 've never contacted them these whole 4 months but finally gave in and called the SON yesterday to ask when we should hear something and she said she was working on trying to get them mailed out by the end of the day. I keep going back and forth on whether or not I think I got in.

Are any of you students at UAB? Do they only notify you via USPS mail if you got in? If I didn't get in, maybe they would only email me since that's what I selected on my app. But for students that do get in, maybe you are notified via snail mail because they send a package or something?

I realize that I look pathetic and I am not normally like this, haha. But this 4 month long wait is about to kill me. I'm very excited about going back to school but the worst is that I didn't even apply to any backups..eek!

Peaceful: You mentioned a study group in your other thread for USA's NP students. After talking with my advisor on Friday, it looks like I'll be starting out with Research & Stats for Advanced PRactice and Professional Role Development in Spring 2010. Summer 2010 will be Advanced Patho and Issues in APN.

What classes do you start with for the spring and summer terms?

Some of us in the study group are starting Spring 2010 with Advanced patho and Nursing Research. I bought the patho text and have started reading. Studying/reading in advance has helped me. I am super nervous about Research. You are welcome to join our study group. Sounds like we will be in research at the same time? I will PM you UAB school email. Peaceful, I am thinking of applying to USA. Can you tell me if you live near there? I am in the midwest and al little nervous about living that far away from the college. Do you know if most are able to work in this np program? Any info would be great, thanks!

Sure, that sounds great! Our research is a combined "research and stats for adv. prac. nursing". Since I didn't really enjoy that class in undergrad, it makes me a little nervous too! I'm waiting to hear back from the professor on what books/supplemental materials we will be using. Our classes start Jan. 6. My school email is [email protected].

Hi Nikkif,

I live in S. Calif. Previous students have discussed it is hard to do school + work. My plans are to take out loans once clinicals start and work less. There is a required 2 to 3 day on campus visit required at the beginning of the 3rd semester. Email me anytime for questions on this school.
