Grand Canyon University... RN to MSN/education program

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Updated:   Published

Sorry I'm plagiarizing this intro to a post because I thought it was awesome. Hope the OP doesn't mind.

I would like to use this thread for all of us attending or having attended GCU.

I am going to begin classes next week in the RN to MSN/ED program.

I would love to hear from different people who are in different stages of the program and what they have liked and hated.

I AM NOT INTERRESTED IN HEARING FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT GONE THROUGH THE PROGRAM AND ONLY WANT TO SAY BAD THINGS ABOUT THE SCHOOL.

I hope other GCU alumni will get involved and help us with any sticky situations that arise and offer their wisdom.

Thanks,

Amy

Good Luck to you! Make sure to talk to your advisor about doubling up, there are certain classes that you can't double up with.

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with the MSN Nurse Practioner programs? I am mainly looking for info on clinical hours and class on campus (ie. how many days a week/month on campus). Thanks!!

Done with my first class and finished with a 97.95%! (Stupid APA worksheet got me in the beginning).

Now starting Family Health Promotion.

We can double up on classes?

Just checking in with any other GCU students. I have successfully completed two classes and I am maintaining a 4.0 GPA with relative ease right now. Definitely a lot of paper writing, but I am finding I would rather express my knowledge this way than by taking tests. I also feel my writing style is accelerating to a more professional level with each paper I write!

Statistics is coming up, but I have heard that the instructor is patient and willing to help. Also no tests, just weekly assignments.

Hope everyone else is doing well :)

Glad to hear everything is going well. There are definitely alot of papers but I agree it is a better way to express knowledge. I am enjoying my classes so far. Good luck to you.
