Financial Aid Resources for Grad School

Hello,

I'm sure there are many of you in my boat. Been accepted to a great but PRICEY graduate school with no money to go. Financial Aid Offices tend to take a looong time and not everyone gets aids.

So I'm starting this thread to see if anyone out there can provide links/information on financial aid/loans/scholarships for us soon-to-be grad students.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm so worried about it I'm days away from calling the school to post-pone by a year.

There are several links on this site re; aid, one of which is the Grad Plus Loan program. This loan works much like the Parent Plus loan except you take it out, requires no co-signer and has nothing to do w/ credit.

Another is the Faculty Loan Program. With this one, you can borrow as much as you need for up to 4 yrs. Once you graduate, you agree to teach nursing for 4 yrs, after which they will cancel 85% of your loan balance. The point of the program is to alleviate the nurse faculty shortage. Whatever program you'll enroll in, if it's not an education MSN, take the education-related courses (usually 12 cdts for a teaching/education certificate) and that'll qualify. With this, you can go to school full-time. PM me if you have any questions about it.
