Ever transfer credits from Univ of Phoenix?

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

I'd like to start at Univ of Phoenix, I like the format and schedule and so far am pretty pleased with the application process and such.

I eventually want to obtain CNM, but I'm not ready to get into a CNM program right now. How do I find out of credits from Univ of Phoenix would transfer into a CNM program later on?

I realize not all of the credits would transfer, but surely some of them would apply?

I did my BSN and MSN at University of Phoenix. Then...I went on to do a post-MSN clinical nurse specialist. THe programs are fully accredited, so I don't see why they wouldn't transfer. However, as a military wife for many years, I would advise the following:

1. When you attend classes at ANY college, keep the syllabus and course description from the course. What I found was that courses change over the years and if you have the syllabus and course description of your courses, they are easier for the next school to evaluate.

2. Always keep a log of the exact dates you attended a particular school. If you are attending a satellite school, keep the main campus address and phone number. We moved a lot and some of the schools I went to, no longer exist in that place.

3. Don't give up. If you don't get the evaluation of the credits that you think you deserve, appeal it. I did this once and was awarded more credits.

Good luck.

thanks trauma, I appreciate your input, but I'm leaning towards not going to Univ of Phoenix. I just feel a bit pressured and looking at my ultimate goals I dont think it's for me.

Now I feel more confused than ever. Not sure what im going to do
