Can anyone comment on whether Penn cares if some of your prereqs are done at a CC?

I don't think they care. I know that a lot of people do their prerequisites at community college to save money.

Hi, I am starting to fill prerequisites for a hopeful 2014 start date in the Accelerated BSN program at Penn. Does anyone know if they accept courses completed online through the University of Phoenix? I'm working full time, and my undergrad degree is not in the sciences, so I'm trying to complete these prerequisites in the most efficient and effective possible way. Thanks!

Take this with a grain of salt because I am not applying this year and consequently do not have detailed knowledge of the process, but I would imagine there are places you could take an online class that don't have the stigma of University of Phoenix. i.e. the local CC and some state schools near me offer online classes you can take as a non-matriculated student.

Does anyone know the TOTAL estimated cost of Penn including the BSN and MSN portions combined?

I think the cost was well over $120,000... The BSN portion alone was like, $80 or $90k from what I remember from the chat. However, I'm not sure exactly how much for the entire program.

I haven't been able to attend any of the sessions.. did they say that a lot of people get scholarhships or grant money to cover some of the cost? Did they say why the BSN portion is 90k that seems to be so crazy!

No, they didn't really say, to be honest. I have no idea why the cost is so high. A lot of ABSN programs are costly because they're at private schools, so tuition is more expensive and then you're taking a ton of classes in one year. Plus, I'm sure cost of living in Philadelphia has a lot to do with it.
