Hey guys! I got my interview invite (YAY!) and I've already booked my flight but I don't have a hotel yet either. I'll be leaving the 6th in the morning and I'm flying out of Philadelphia at 7:30 after the day is complete (kind of nervous because I will need to connect in Atlanta at like 10 PM with only an hour to get from one flight to another, and it'll probably be the last flight out of the night... but I've done it before and it was fine so I'll just hope for the best, lol) but I haven't gotten a hotel yet either. I think I'm going to Priceline it...

I'm opting for the in-person interview on Dec. 10th.

Do any current students know if it's safe to walk from 30th Street Station to the campus? I'm taking a train from Lancaster, PA. Don't know if walking is OK or if I should catch a cab.
Ask Filomena, the admissions director, she should know.

UPDATE: Expedia has the Westin Philadelphia for $109, about $123 with taxes. It's listed at over 200 on the Westin website!!!! So I booked that, and it's about a mile they said, and you could walk if you wanted, but they said a taxi is better and costs less than $10. They also have a Lady Liberty shuttle that goes from the airport to all the hotels for $10 for a flat fee. Priceline wasn't cooperating, haha.

CONGRATS!!! See what'd I tell you ;-) What date is your interview? the 7th? I'm staying at a nearby b&b (the gables I think it's called). I've always had great experiences at b&bs and it's usually cheaper than a hotel stay.

*nevermind about the b&b, I just saw you posted! That's a great price! I paid like $120 for the b&b

    Hey Atomicgirl--

I planning on opting for the in-person interview for psych on December 7th. Where are you planning on staying? How long are you going to be in PA for?
Hey KoKe! I'm staying at the Gables B&B. It's on Chester Ave about a mile away from the nursing school. I'm arriving on the 5th and leaving in the evening on the 7th. How about you??

Only problem with the Westin is that you have to check out by 12pm or else you get charged for the next day.

Hopefulnurse24- are you planning on staying until the 8th?

Atomicgirl - I'm arriving the morning of December 6th, and leaving late Dec. 7th!

Yeah, that should be fine though because I'm arriving on the 6th in the morning as well, and leaving at 7:30 PM on the 7th. I'll just check out in the morning right when I wake up and I'll bring my luggage with me to the interview, I'm assuming it'll be an all day event anyways.

Thanks atomicgirl! I'm so excited! I also need to find a suit for my interview, lol...

Are you all planning on wearing suits? I'm so not a formal person...this is gonna be very out of character for me lol. Are you guys thinking we should meet up and motivate each other the day before the interview?

That would be awesome! I'd really enjoy that, meeting up for dinner would be great!

Good question about interview attire, because I've been thinking about it a lot. I don't think I'm necessarily going to do a pants suit, but instead perhaps I'll wear a nice skirt and jacket type suit with pantyhose? I know it'll be cold, but I'm not much of a pants suit type person! We will see though... I'm going to search next week while I'm home for Thanksgiving with my mom. I'm going to check some outlets (Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, etc) and places like Ross and TJMaxx for some good deals!

Congrats to those who got interviews! I had the same question atomicgirl! I'm wondering what would be ideal attire for the interview. Business casual (slacks and a nice shirt?) or business formal (suits?)?
