Best way to 'break in' in the PICU?

Hello all!

I'm entering college this fall, Mount Mercy College to be more specific. Anyways I'm going into nursing and I hope to go into PICU. Ever since I lost a friend it's been my passion.

Anyways, I know that around here at least it is a pretty hard. I'm testing for my CNA in 10 days, but I'm pretty confident I will get it.

What is the best way to be able to get in to the PICU? I'm not sure if they will take me as a CNA on PICU right away, so should I try and get a hospital job in peds?
