the pennsylvania e-health technology consortium has

changed its name and unveiled plans for a major summit

july 26 to advance its goal of building a statewide

network for electronic medical records.

the consortium, which involves nearly 30 organizations,

is now calling itself the pennsylvania e-health

initiative and on july 26, the group - led by quality

insights of pennsylvania and the pennsylvania medical

society - will hold a one-day summit in harrisburg to

develop a plan for enabling pa. physicians and their

patients to access medical records any time and

anywhere in the country, reported the business journal.

organizers of the event are planning for up to 500

attendees, while the conference will feature keynote

speaker david brailer, who was appointed national

coordinator for health information technology in 2004

by president bush, the business journal added.
