I'm appying to Jefferson and wanted to know about their ASN program. I'm taking courses eles where currently so if I get in I'll have less of a course load. People at Jeff's open house were very friendly and gave lots of info, but I thought I'd see if anyone was in the program or went to Jefferson and what they thought about it.

I am currently a Senior at Jefferson in their BSN program and I think it is a great school. The program is pretty intense, i study all the time, but that is going to be with any nursing school you get in to. Clinicals are good, since Jeff is a major hospital they have many affiliates, so we usually have a variety of we would like to go... If you have any more questions feel free to messege me.. Good Luck!

Hi Itailia13, thanks for your opinion. I'm taking NET test in a few weeks. I'm not worried about that too much. I've always wanted to go to Jeff. I have completed Eng 101 & College Math with a 4.0 GPA, so hopefully I'll get in. I'm prepared to work my butt off if I do get in the ASN program. I'll probobly have to leave job. Are you able to work? Maybe I'll get enough aid to help me out.

Good Luck on your NET.. and no I dont work during the school year.. for me i think it is too much to do both, but some of my friends work part time and they do fine... I dont know how your financial status is or if u have any kids, but if you can afford to not work and just focus on school I would do that.. if not, it is not impossible to work and go to school at the same time as many people do.. I hope you get in its a great school

Italia,

Hi, Im am incoming BSN Student at Jefferson for the fall 2007. I am very nervous about entering the nursing program. I know its going to be intense, but can you get me some advice to ease my stress. Also maybe some pointers about your first year in the program. Im excited but also scared at the same time. Any advice would be helpful. Thank You!!

This post might be a few months too late, but I graduated from the ASN program at Jeff last May. I felt the program fully prepared me for a job as a GN, and NCLEX, which most of my classmates, myself included, passed on the first attempt. The program is intensive, and does require a commitment, but is fully worth the cost of tuition. The classes are small, and individual attention from teachers and clinical instructors is readily available. The program doesn't require you to have any prerequisites completed, but it will lighten your class load if you do. Plus, the program is an ASN-to-BSN program, so upon completion of the ASN program you are accepted automatically into the BSN program. I had a good experience there, hope this helps...

Thank's for info, Native-son. I just took TEAS Test at Harcum College. I will be taking the NET test at Jeff in December. It was good to hear from another male that went throught the program. Thanks again for info.
