I have always wanted to work at Hershey Med Ctr. I graduate in May. But I live over an hour away and I have 2 kids, so moving would be a big thing for us. Is it worth the trip if I would do weekends? I also have to work at a local LTC because I am on a scholarship but I can work PRN for them. Any advise? Is it worth the trip?

:monkeydance:Well i worked at Harrisburg hospital for almost 5yrs instead of hershey, I live in schuylkill county so I drove by hershey to get to H-burg and left h-burg back in june and took a position at Lehigh valley Hospital. H-Burg has some drastic management issues they have to work on. Anyway...I graduated back in Aug and passed boards on Sept 19. I have about an hour drive to LVH, but they have a lot to offer to their employees, like free health care that you may be interested in cause of having 2 children yourself (I have 3). that may be an option for you depending where you live? LVH is far better than any other facility I have worked at or visited. They are top notch and offer flexability as well. Hershey is a good facility and I have a bunch of friends who work there. I have heard (+) and (-) about it, like most places. I guess it all depends. I have my own personal opinions about it and dont want that to skew your decision making... Good luck to you and the decision you make! you have to do what you feel is best for you and your family. I do know they are going through some changes and it is a little chaotic there right now. There is one of my fellow class mates who took a job there in the OR internship. I have not heard anything from her to see if she likes it or not.
