HACC students? I have a few questions

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

I am interested in applying at HACC for the RN program (I have no healthcare experience).

Im considering doing it part-time. Does all the campuses have part-time. Im closer to the Harrisburg location but willing to travel if need be. I'd like to go to a campus that I can do the pre-reqs and clinicals at the same location/area.

Also Im kinda confused as to how to apply. Do you do all the pre-reqs then apply for clinicals?

Are the instructors willing help students or do you have to do some type of tutoring? Im not the smartest person in the world. LOL!

Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated!:heartbeat

Hello. I graduated with my RN from the Gettysburg campus. As far as I know, only the York campus has a PT program, but that could have changed. Because you get admitted to the actual nursing program using a points system based on your classes taken/grades - yes, you really do need to have taken all your classes first. The Gettysburg campus has a learning center where there is free tutoring to help you along. You would be surprised how many people drop or fail out and do not even seek out tutoring at all!!! We even had a nursing tutor ( this last semster it was me!) Anyhow, you enroll in HACC as prenursing and then start tackling the prereqs. There will be pre-nursing meetings every semester that will explain the points system, when to apply for the actual nursing program, etc.

Nursing school is very tough. But it is well worth the hard work in the end. HACCs program is extremely hard..but it is doable, and you will enter the work force very well prepared. Good luck to you!

The Lancaster campus also has a part-time evening program.

York and Lancaster are the only 2 campuses that have the part-time RN program. All, or almost all of your prereqs must be done before you apply for the clinicals.

Your best bet is to check their website: www.hacc.edu for more information.

I've been accepted into the Spring 2009 RN Program. I have a question. Are clinicals 2 days each week (as the HACC website states) or 2 days every other week (as a Nursing 103 Syllabus that I reviewed stated)?

For the first class, nursing 103 it is twice a week every other week. All of the rest of the semesters I am told, are every week.

I'm at HGB campus, getting ready to finally start clinicals!!!

Yes, you really do need to have all of your prereqs done in order to apply, and you will also need to have the highest grades possible. I would suggest you look at the HACC website and schedule an appointment with an adivsor, and they will be able to tell you what you will need to do to get accepted into the HACC nursing program.

GOOD LUCK!

The hardest nursing program in the North East Region, maybe the whole U.S.
