Aria School of Nursing September 2012 - page 3

Hi all, I'm new to this site (just joined today). But I've been lurking for a few weeks. I'm applying for the Aria Health SON and would love to meet others who are applying for the September 2012 academic year.... Read More

Simplyblessed I basically had the same situation. I lost my mom my freshman year at psu and didn't do to well with my grades. But I managed to get it together for my pre reqs at ccp. I was overjoyed when I got accepted. :-)

I am so very sorry to hear that. But, I bet your mom is overjoyed too. I lost my dad last year and that was one of the most painful moments in my life, knowing that he would never meet his first grandchild (he passed in Jul, my daughter was born in Nov). But we pick up and move on don't we?!

I'm so glad you got into Aria and hope that I can be saying the same thing in the near future. I just love everything about that campus. The historic building, their history, the program, the affiliation with Penn to help us pursue our Bachelors.

I'm going right into the BSN portion afterwards. (And yes, I'm speaking and claiming it, like I'm already in!)

Are you taking additional classes right now, or just relaxing before all of the running around starts?

I spoke my acceptance into existence too...lol. I'll probably take a class this summer. But I basically took everything I need to take at aria already.

The advisor at psu told to get a head start on the classes needed for the bachelor program by taking a couple of additional electives.

Did you go to the abbington campus of psu? How was Penn? I actually got accepted there (eons ago, 1998) but I chose to go to a school in NY.

I went to delaware county/brandywine. I liked it. If I didn't have so much going on I definitely would've finished my bs in biology there.

i applied for fall to! i just took my teas test and just need to hand in my essay! Then i guess we have to wait :/ how did everyone do on their teas test? Theres a new way of scoring it i think because i got a proficient score and the lady said that was good?

@ awarren, I have to look again at the bachelor requirements for psu. I think I am covered in the electives department but I will double check. Also, I looked at a few of the nursing courses on the sonis login and the book list seems pretty extensive for the early nursing classes! I did see a few that you could rent decently on Chegg though.

@fitnessgirl, I scored proficient too. I'm not sure how the scoring works, but on the paperwork it said that you can call Julie and ask her how they use the TEAS in their admissions process. I did hear that some schools award certain points depending on the level you scored. But I don't know. Awarren said that they look at the percentages rather than the score in her case and she's (or he's) already been accepted into the program!

I'm going to schedule my interview as well. Willing to do all that it takes!
