Wearing Black Scrubs in Pediatric Hospital

So I have these scrubs that are black with blue/green flowers, blue bubbles, and yellow spongebob on them. The other one I'm interested in is a black and grey scrub top with tweety bird on them. I got the spongebob ones because I found them pretty and was showing my mom but she stated that black might be inappropriate a color for a pediatrics hospital as it can be associated with death and dying and that parents might not want me around their children in the color? I didn't find anything wrong with the scrubs.

What say you guys?

Pardon me but yes,it is definitely gloomy to look at, enter a room of sick patients and they might react by saying "the angel of death has arrived to fetch their souls", quite a creepy , eerie feeling for a patient.

Our entire faculty is in black, but the peds nurses aren't suppose to wear cartoon figures...it's a peds unit for goodness sakes! That is what kids like!

I work in the ER and our scrubs must be black or maroon pants with coordinating tops (print or plain). We are not allowed to wear cartoon print at all. A lot of times the nurses are wearing all black. When I first started I used to think patients and families would associate us with 'death' because of the black. I guess as long as your compassionate and a great nurse it doesn't matter what color your scrubs are.

They liked it a lot.
