I currently work at SCH, as far as I know they do not offer nursing residencies. I was hired on as a new grad right after graduation. If you really want to work for them just look for jobs that say new grad RN's welcome to apply. As for your resume/application what I remember is that you will need good letters of recommendation. You can absolutely live in Seattle without a car. The bus system works well and SCH has a good shuttle system too.
Thanks Jcranmore. Seattle Children's has residencies, I wrote to a recruiter to find out, but I'm not close enough to having my license yet to apply. You have to be ready to work within 4 weeks she said. That's on the backburner for now...
I've just completed applications to two UW residencies. Does anyone have any pointers? I realllllyyyy want to move to Seattle/PNW!

Hello,
I will graduate (BSN) this August, and will apply at Seattle Children's or Evergreen for the pediatric nurse residency. I'm also interested in UW, but I'm not sure if they have a pediatric residency. Has anyone been through the program? Can anyone give me any tips for applying, resume, etc? What is the pay rate? Can you live in Seattle without a car (I might have to sell mine to afford the move!)
Thank you.
