What does "Hours: Holiday rotation."?

Good Evening, everyone!

I am trying to obtain a nursing assistant position at acute care facility.

The application says, "Hours: Holiday rotation." Does it mean that I would be

only working on the holidays or does it mean that it includes the mandatory

holiday rotation hours". Thank you so much for your feedback!

I hope someone can help me!

What else does it say? Does it say how many hours per work- part-time, full-time, per diem? I would guess it means that you're required to work a holiday rotation but there should be more info in the posting.

Well per diem is "as needed" so I gather this means that you will be required to work the holiday rotation despite having no guaranteed hours otherwise. Per diem staff in the hospital might work as infrequently as 1-2 shifts a month to as frequently as full-time. When I worked as a per diem aide while in school, I worked 32-40 hrs/week.

At my facility per diem staff were exempt from holiday rotation. Holiday rotation usually means that you have to work public holidays even if you aren't scheduled to work those days. Where I work we are expected to work 3 out of the 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Years Eve, New Years Day). I think what your job is saying is that it will be mandatory for you to pick up holiday shifts. You can always double check to make sure.
