Hello,

Would anyone happen to know the salary range for a Nicu Pct at St. Louis Childrens hospital? I'm wondering if it's higher than the norm because of the specialty floor? Any feedback would be great! Also, if you are a nicu pct, can u tell me what a typical work day is like? Do u interact with the babies?

I do not work there or in MO itself but I will say that usually there is no differentiation in pay based on specialty for PCT's.

I did a rotation in the NICU last semester and the tech was responsible for stocking supplies and organization; they also assisted the nurse's in transport of patients and errands (running to blood bank, pharmacy, etc). I also saw no interaction with the neonates from the PCT, this particular NICU required all visitors and staff to wear gowns and scrub before entering the care area.

Not from that area at all, but in my facility the techs get the same rate. Our NICU usually only has one tech and they stock supplies or are trained to be a milk mixer. They get pulled to act as a sitter to our adolescent psych kids. They don't get floated to the adult world they way some of the floor techs do
