You could look at PSA health care and I think there is another one called We love Kids. You could also check out Brightstar, I worked for them a couple of years ago when they were trying to start taking peds home health cases, although they were disorganized and I only stayed for 5 months. I now work in peds LTC

Thanks! What's the pay like at bright star or even the ltc place you work? Here it's comparable to hospital pay.

When I worked for Brightstar the pay was what Medicaid reimbursed which was $22. I believe PSA is higher as they have more insurance and private pay. The peds LTC where I work is the same as most geriatric LTC were pay is concerned starting around $25, however the staffing level is soo much better because the facility is non profit and fundraise all year long to keep our staff levels where they are. It is a great place to work. Plus shift differentials where some adult LTC/SNFs don't even offer differentials Hospitals in the Portland area start around $31-33, but the market is saturated for acute care jobs. I love my job, but for financial reasons I would love to make the jump to acute care, there are only 2 peds hospitals in the Portland area, and openings are hard to come by.

I would check out Gentiva; when I worked assisted living the HH RN was from there and she seemed pretty happy. Not sure what they pay.

Avoid Addus; I haven't heard anything for a few years since I've worked for them, but it would really surprise me if they have gotten around to computerizing so your SOCs will be a nightmare.

I worked for Adventist briefly but was let go halfway into my orientation, ostensibly because I wasn't up to par on foleys; the reality is I was struggling with major anxiety and either didn't ask for support in the right way or they weren't willing to give the support; it was hard to tell, because yes, I was that panicked! Lots of the other nurses there had been there awhile, so it might be worth a shot for you if you're thicker skinned than I am. :)
