This thread is for applicants to Legacy's Versant RN Residency program that starts Winter 2014. Congratulations to those of you who have recieved an email to start registering for the pre-screening interviews. Good luck to everyone!

Specializes in Neonatal, NICU level IV.
I applied for women's health, and STILL haven't heard anything. They let us know either way, right?

Yes... They will let everyone know either way. Remember, they still have 18 days to contact you and schedule an interview and they usually wait until the last minute.

Also remember that they are running an entire floor and juggling time slots for these interviews.

I'm getting a bit nervous; a colleague of mine already got a job offer to the emergency room!

Phew. For a second I thought that maybe they just didn't let you know if they decided not to proceed further. They told me 2-3 weeks due to the holidays, but encouraged me to go ahead and get my Washington license since Legacy has some hospitals up there. I calculated the amount of possible applicants my interviewers (women's health) could have interviewed that day, which was a maximum of 18. However, I have no idea how many people can be accepted into that department, so I have don't have any clue as to how intense the competition is. This whole process is so shrouded in mystery!

Roxy0128 do you know which location your friend got the ED job offer from? Portland, Salmon Creek? Also losing my marbles over not knowing if I should still have hope or not. They gave me such reassurance during the first interview. Thanks!

I know from last versant round that people were informed that they didn't get a second interview around the time that people were offered jobs..(first rounds were in June, second round in July, offers and rejections not until august! :-/. ) I've also heard up to 20 total residents this time.. Just got my call today for second interview so there's still hope!

If you don't mind the asking, which department are you applying for?

RN4209, so what you're saying is that the longer it takes to hear from them, the less likely it is that we've been accepted? Isn't every department totally different? I have a friend who was already called for second interview for the ICU (I think), but to my knowledge, no women's health people have heard anything yet. Last round, a friend of mine went to first interview, and instead of being called for second interview, they basically just offered her a job. So I guess it really depends on the department as to how they proceed forward.

Is what you know about last round regarding many different departments, or just one or two?

I am applying to medsurg

Bestest of luck to you on your interview!!!

Thanks! @Lulu16RN yeah the longer it takes it seems less likely... They stay true to that schedule they gave us on first round interviews (that sheet of paper). They still have ALL of January to contact you though so I think it's based on manager/staff availability. And I believe it's true for most units to contact you about rejection later because it's a computer generated email..not a personal email. And i thought it was protocol to do both interviews so I'm surprised they skipped the 2nd one..I think the second one is more so for some of the unit staff to meet the candidates because most people I know interview with 5 or so staff members second round. Maybe if they have a rotation on that unit and the staff knows the candidate, they don't feel the need to do second interview?!

My friend who got a second interview went to OHSU with me, and did not have any previous contact with this unit at Legacy, so I'm not sure. Thanks for the info. This is becoming more disheartening by the day.

Med surg interview on the 12 june.
