I got my packet in the mail today as well! Yahoo I am finally in Nursing school! Though my wife said "Now the real work begins..."

:lol2:

Congrats everyone!

I have a question for you about applying to Lindfield. So you applied sometime in January right? And then you wait until now, April to hear if you will get in and start when? The following year? Or the Summer time?

Just trying to grasp my head around what lies ahead.

Thanks!:nurse:

I believe we start this summer... June 25th, 2008 for the accelerated BSN program...

I heard from Linfield today. I was practically waiting by my mailbox. I did get in and like PreNursingGUY, my husband said, "I guess I'll see you in a couple of years!".

BTW, I'm new to the forum. I'm excited for both------(the Forum and Linfield, that is!)

Congratd to you! I'm looking forward to meeting all of my classmates!

I heard back a couple days ago, and was so excited to be accepted. I was waitlisted last year, there and at OHSU.

I'll be at Linfield too!

I started two years ago right out of highschool and have been down at their campus in McMinnville doing pre-reqs so my application was *different* than yours!

But none the less, I'll be there in the fall!

It depends. It is my understanding that there are three start dates throughout each year: summer, fall and spring. Everyone applies in January, then the acceptance letters, etc, are mailed April 23rd (or so they say, I got mine that day), and you are assigned a starting term. You remain with the students from that starting term (your "cohort", I believe) for the duration of your studies.

I think that if you are looking to go from BS to a BSN, you typically start summer term, and those going from prerequisites to a BSN are divided amongst the other two, fall and spring.

I'm pretty sure that is how it works, I hope I answered your question.

I'd also be interested in hearing about GPA's accepted. Did anyone apply to any other schools? I applied only to Linfield this year.

I believe only the accelerated program begins in June. Fall and spring starts are for those entering as Juniors - thus completing the BSN in two years.

My packet was mailed on the 22nd, so it arrived on the 23rd. My science GPA is 3.95 with supporting prerequsite GPA 3.75. I also applied to OHSU, Clackamas & Mt. Hood. OHSU was my last choice because it would take 3 years to get my BSN.

There were 619 applicants this year for 140 seats. 48 of the 140 seats are for the accelerated program. 270 of the 619 applicants had a previous degree. 10% of the applicants were male.

So if I did my math right, there was about 4.4 applicants for every spot - congrats to everyone who made the cut.
