  1. thanks for that information! FYI the OSNA convention is on the 21st of Feb (saturday) at Mt. Hood Community College.

Hi GI-RN Congratulations! Tell me, did you know where you wanted to work before graduating or did your experience in nursing school change that? Do you recommend applying straight to the area you want to work in or is the age old "do your time on the floor" still apply? Thanks.
  3. I was told it evens out in the long run. If you take OHSU's OCNE Program, that's three years and they may raise tuition every year. (They do) It said so in the acceptance letter I received. And where did I read or hear about some suit they have??!? Let's hope they don't add on extra student fees to offset costs.
  4. The Portland one.
  5. AMEN TO THAT!!! You could not have said it any better!
  6. i made to the ocne program at ohsu but will not be accepting. it's rather late and i did not want to be stressed out waiting. so i hope that "ups" your chances. good luck!
  7. Thank you! I will definitely keep "Lompocs" in mind. Good luck......
  8. I would look into ALL the Nursing Programs that you could possibly consider and gather as much pre-reqs as you can cover. I started pre-reqs in PCC with the intention of just going to PCC and then midway had to add more classes that would qualify me for the other schools/programs. In other words cast a wide net. On your second question; it really depends on your long term goals. Do you want to work NOW or do you have other intentions in the distant future? I gather a lot of us here are second career hopefuls or just a little bit more mature in age. Therefore we tend to consider a lot of variables in the mix but are also capable of realizing the essence of time and how we want to live our lives. Finally on your third point, well, like I said, we do know what TIME is like. You already have a Master's and so you are quite aware of what it takes. I don't know if this helps.....Best of luck to you!
  9. I heard from Linfield today. I was practically waiting by my mailbox. I did get in and like PreNursingGUY, my husband said, "I guess I'll see you in a couple of years!". BTW, I'm new to the forum. I'm excited for both------(the Forum and Linfield, that is!)
