Hi, I'm considering applying for a nurse tech position. My question is, since my ultimate goal is to work in the O.R., what location in the hospital is going to benefit me the most? There are no positions in the O.R. itself, but available are ICU, surgery unit, med-surg, etc.....Thanks for any advice...

gotta give folks a chance to get here, read your post and write a response. there wasn't that much time between the first post and the second. a little patience sometimes goes a long way. have a good day!

Sorry, didn't mean to sound pushy,,,just anxious I guess. Noticed I had something like 40 or so views without a response....and I had a bad day yesterday too.....forgive me please if I sounded bad..

I think part of the issue is that the OR is vastly different from the floors. It won't hurt you to have experience there, but it's not really going to help either.

I'd keep looking to see if there are ORs out there that take student nurse interns-they are out there.
