Would you discharge a patients that's had outpatient cholecystectomy if they can't get dressed themselves or stand up by themselves if it's at the end of day or call surgeon?

Does your facility have outpatient discharge protocols or requirements the patient has to meet? Could they stand up before surgery? Is there someone that will be helping them at home? The time of day is irrelevant, it's all about patient safety. If you have concerns, call the surgeon and document!

She could stand before surgery. She wasn't able awake enough to put her clothes on. Her family put her pants on her and a pull over shirt. They couldn't get her underwear on her. I think the surgeon should have been called.
