Specializes in Emergency Room.

I am LPN just hired. They mainly do mohs micrographic surgery, as well as other procedures. Does any one work in this area?

Thanks.

No, but it's a good easy job. Nice long easy cases on healthy patients.

Sorry, I don't.

Specializes in Plastic Surgery, ER.

I work at an outpatient plastic surgery office. We work with a few Mohs surgeons/dermatologists doing reconstruction after the Mohs precedures. I believe most mohs surgeries (here anyways) are done in the office, under local anesthesia, perhaps with a valium on board as needed, and can take a few hours to complete as the surgeon is looking at the tissue under a microscope with the patient in the office and continues to take more sections as needed until clear. We usually see the patient the next day, sometimes 2 days later, to repair the defect left from the surgery.

Seems like a pleasant, not too stressful job. Good luck!
